Turtuk, once part of Baltistan, is known for its apricot orchards, charming people, and unique history-locals recall how on December 13, 1971, they went to sleep in Pakistan and woke up in India. Nubra To Pangong (165 Kms / Approx 06 Hrs Total) After breakfast, drive to Pangong Lake (14,500 ft) via Agham and Shyok village. Pangong, the world's highest saltwater lake, offers breathtaking views of its deep blue waters framed by the majestic Himalayas. On arrival, check into your camp and enjoy lunch. Spend the afternoon at leisure, soaking in the serene beauty of this iconic location, featured in many Bollywood films. Capture memorable moments before retiring for an overnight stay at the camp. Pangong To Leh (160Kms / Approx 06 Hrs) After sunrise, enjoy breakfast and check out of the camp for your drive back to Leh. En route, visit Thiksey Monastery, perched on a hill with stunning views of the Indus Valley, renowned for its grand Maitreya statue and Dukhang assembly hall. Continue past rows of chortens to Shey Palace, once the summer residence of Ladakh's kings. By early evening, check into your hotel and relax.
