Arrival at the Bandaranaike International airport and transfer to Sigiriya . En route, optional visitto Pinnawala elephant orphanage. Check in at hotel. Evening proceed on a sightseeing tour of Dambulla, including an optional visit to Dambulla cave temple. Dinner and overnight stay at a hotel in Sigiriya
Early morning visit to Sigiriya Rock Fortress for a breathtaking sunrise. Climb the ancient rock fortress and explore the historic site with its stunning views. Check out from the hotel and begin your journey to Kandy - the hill capital. The last stronghold of the Sinhala Kings was finally ceded to the British in 1815. Kandy is an example of the Buddhism's influence in Sri Lanka today. Temple's shrines and monasteries keeping alive Buddhist traditions are everywhere. Enroute, visit a spice garden in Mawanella to learn about the diverse spices and herbs used in Sri Lankan cuisine, and a herbal garden to discover the traditional Ayurvedic healing practice. Upon reaching Kandy, do a sightseeing tour, including a visit to the Sacred Temple of the Tooth Relic, a UNESCO World Heritage site and an essential pilgrimage site for Buddhists. Late in the evening, enjoy a traditional Kandyan dance performance. Check-in to your hotel in Kandy for an overnight stay.
